Our Covid-19

strategy

pURSUING GOD'S PRESENCE

“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare” (Jeremiah 29:7).

As of Wednesday, March 31st at 9:00 AM there are 100 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 corona virus in Lubbock. Governor, Gregg Abbott, and Lubbock's Mayor, Dan Pope, have ordered that Texans and Lubbock citizens stay at home until May 1st. The Lubbock Mayor has also closed all businesses that are non-essential to the overall public need.

AND: We believe that the church is essential to the overall public need, yet the good news is we bring the church with us wherever we go.  The church is not a building. The church is God's people, who the Bible calls in 1 Corinthians "God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building".

We met for "church" in our own living rooms for a couple weeks now. And we will continue to worship together online again this week and for the weeks to come, because it's not only essential to our soul, but the Word of God is essential to the well-being of our nation and it's communities.

ALL IN-PERSON EVENTS ARE POSTPONED. ALL IN-SPIRIT EVENTS ARE ONGOING! PRAY, LOVE FROM A FAR, AND BE THE CHURCH. We will continue to monitor the situation daily with health officials and other appropriate agencies.

Postponed Events Include:

  • Connect Groups
  • Saturday morning women's breakfast at Sugarbakers.
  • In person - Sunday worship for 3/22 & 3/29 (online worship and teaching will be available)
  • Men's Retreat - Refunds are available if needed or your registration fee can be applied for when the Men's Retreat is rescheduled.

Always follow the precautions prescribed by the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) to reduce infection risk:

  • Wash hands frequently
  • Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or flexed elbow
  • Avoid close contact with anyone exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms

We care for your well being. We care for your physical and Spiritual health. As a people of God, our faithful prayers, continued peace, and trust in God are our greatest contribution to our community. Should circumstances or information change we will exhaust all venues of communication (email, Facebook, FB group, and this webpage) to keep you informed. Until then, God's the summit where our feet are so we will praise Him on the mountain and in the valleys all the same.

In Him,

~ Pastor Trent Lowe
